DAKAR RALLY 2021

HOME > 2021 Season

Originating in the African continent, the Dakar Rally moved to South America in 2009. In 2020 it embarked on its third chapter, this time in the Middle Eastern Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In 2021, while the rally is being held in the same country, everything is new. Teams will be presented with unknown desert terrain where exciting new adventures await.

The rally starts with a prologue run in Jedda, the second largest city in Saudi Arabia. The results of this section will determine the starting positions for the 2021 rally. On the 3rd of January, the stages begin. The first half of the rally mainly consists of difficult road surfaces covered with a mix of hard stones and sand. The Special Stages (SS) incorporate high-speed and technical sections and are sure to keep everyone on their toes.

The second half abruptly starts with a tough marathon stage, after which the teams will take on the scenic yet demanding sand canyons of the Red Sea shoreline. The longest SS makes its appearance in the later stages after which teams are handed over to the final challenge.

In the final stage, teams are forced to commit their full attention to the race where they struggle with hidden rocks in the sand. This is where their true strength will be put to the test one last time.
